We savor time
Humans,
When did you begin?
When did you feel the first lights of the Earth sparkling in your Iris?
Your chest cavity
What fills it?
Is it organs, or air, or, dare I say… emotion?
Could the lights of the Earth shine through what’s in you?
Have you ever wondered: Could they look through?
Could I look through?
Could anyone?
Were you scared the first time around? I bet there are things you can’t take back.
What’s lost forever, what couldn’t be found.
What slides through your fingers,
What breaks away, despite your desire, your wish, your yearning to hold on.
Where does it all go? What does it all amount to?
All I know is, all that you've lost, shall be carried away by the flow of time.
On my way to you, I swam against it.
I turn your narration around.
Goodbye.
Hello,
Have you ever not been alone?
Are you a part of it all? Are you, they, and I that different?
Are we the same?
Are we separated, but longing to be together?
When you ask the questions is when you wish to be with me.
Whether I want it or not.
Whether I want it or not.
Whether I want it or not.
It shall be done.
As the tears roll down your lovers’ cheeks.
As the newfounded feelings knock on the doors.
As what was gone comes flowing back.
Let us savor time.
After all, the flow of it washed us up on this endless shoreline.
We are stranded. A landscape with no escape.
Say your hello, say your goodbye.
As we shall go, as I arrive.
But don’t you fear, it’s a relief.
I’ll hold you near, I’m yours to keep.
As you drift off, I'll take your hand.
We're arriving at your inevitable end.
